Step 5: Designing your first website using Macromedia Fireworks and Dreamweaver

OK, you have secured your domain name, web hosting, html editor and graphics editor. You have everything that is necessary to begin working on your first website. This step by step web site design tutorial is going to guide you through creating a basic business website using Macromedia Dreamweaver and Macromedia Fireworks MX. You'll create a home page, about us page and contact us page. You can use a different version of of Dreamweaver or Fireworks, but the commands might be slightly different.

To begin, create a folder on your computer where you will store your website files. For example, your web files will be located in C:\website. Under C:\website, create two subfolders, one called source and one called images. The source folder will house your graphic design source files. The images folder will house your website's images. Your computer should look similar to this:
